Intervista con Charlotte Cheetham

«… i graphic designer – che siano studenti o professionisti – sono sempre più interessati al processo creativo della ricerca e ai concetti, e non si preoccupano solo delle forme. Inoltre apprezzo molto le dinamiche dei progetti realizzati in collaborazione, come pure il crescente impegno dei designer nel campo dell’editoria, della stampa, come se ci fosse il desiderio di lasciare una traccia, un’impronta, delle cose. La tendenza alla pluridisciplinarità e all’interdisciplinarità oggi è molto forte: e questa è un’ottima cosa, a mio parere. Mi piace l’idea del dialogo, dello scambio, del confronto. Penso che oggi questo riguardi molti campi come, per esempio, il graphic design, la letteratura, l’architettura, l’editoria, la fotografia, l’arte e la storia.»

«… graphic designers—be they students or professionals—are more and more concerned with the creative process of research and with concepts, rather than only focusing on forms. I also appreciate the dynamics of collaborative projects, as well as the increasing involvement of designers themselves in publishing, in printing—as if there was a desire to keep a trace, or keep track, of things. Pluridisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity are other major trends today: and I think this is great. I love the idea of dialogues, exchanges and confrontations. This is the case today for many disciplines such as graphic design, literature, architecture, publishing, photography, art, history.»
