Cosa c’è di meglio di un buon libro? Forse 411 libri.
Questo è il numero di libri che sono stati candidati per il premio «The most beautiful Swiss books 2009», organizzato annualmente dall’Ufficio federale della cultura svizzero.
Durante un breve viaggio a Zurigo abbiamo potuto apprezzare l’allestimento del premio presso il Museum für Gestaltung: due giri di libri, infilati come pedine in una struttura metallica; sul podio rosso, i trenta libri, che sono stati premiati dalla giuria presieduta da Cornel Windlin. Semplice ed efficace, l’allestimento è stato pensato soprattutto per consentire ai visitatori non solo di guardare i libri, ma di prenderli in mano, sfogliarli, leggerli, toccarli, annusarli…

So many were the books that were entered into the 2009 edition of «The most beautiful Swiss books» competition, which is promoted by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.
During a short stay in Zurich, we had the opportunity to visit the exhibition of the Award at the Museum für Gestaltung: two laps of books, all standing as pieces of a domino, supported by a metal structure; on the red podium, the thirty books that have been awarded by the jury chaired by Cornel Windlin. Simple and effective, the installation has been designed especially to allow visitors to not only look at the books, but take them up, read them, as well as touch and smell them.
